Your Community! Autism Calgary is an association of individuals and families living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) striving to assist each other and the broader community so that those with ASD live meaningful and purposeful lives in a community that values them.
The organization serves as the community of families, caregivers and supportive professionals collectively striving for a supportive, accepting and understanding community for individuals and families living with ASD.
Autism Calgary has numerous programs and services all inspired by community desire and need:
Family Support is a core function of Autism Calgary and is a major way that we provide individualized support to individuals and families living with ASD at all stages of their journey.
Our Family Support Workers are all parents of individuals with ASD and they can meet with you to provide emotional support, answer your questions and provide information, give referrals to other organizations and service providers and help you to navigate the various systems you may be trying to access (diagnostic, health care, education, government funding, etc.). We have also recently, with the support of the City of Calgary, began a pilot project for a specific component of our Family Support Program – ASD Adult Support. If you are an adult with Asperger’s Syndrome or High Functioning Autism who would like more support or community we would love to meet with you and help you to become part of our Asperger’s Support Network.
To support the ever increasing number of families we have also began to use group-based support. We have weekly “FSCD Information Drop-In” times where you can come to get support in a group based format.
For information and support specifically about the FSCD government funding stream for your child we have two sessions weekly. To see the schedule or to register please go to our “Regular Support and Recreation Groups” page
FSCD Afternoon Drop-In: Every Wednesday afternoon, 2-5pm. Registration recommended.
FSCD Evening Drop-In: Every Wednesday Evening, 7-9pm. Registration necessary.
For general information/support and to meet with someone on the Family Support Team you can drop in between 9:30 am to 5:00 pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or contact Maria, the Family Support Coordinator at
