Hello Everyone!

I had an opportunity to Chat with a wonderful young woman, Lucille Rayner, while I was shopping at Community Naturals. I have done Craniosacral Therapy with my kids and found it to help. Lucille explained there is more to it so we invited her to come and share.

More about Lucille Rayner, Certified Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist

Lucille Rayner is trained by Body Intelligence, an internationally renowned program in the field.   She first began her journey in the holistic arts as a youth when she fell in love with essential oils, herbal medicine, nutrition and yoga. She has studied and worked in the natural health industry for over 10 years and began her education studying herbal medicine at Wild Rose College of Natural Healing. She also spent time traveling, studying yoga, meditation and chi kung.  Becoming certified as a craniosacral therapist was a natural evolution of her passion for supporting people on their own wellness journey.  She continues to expand her personal practice as well as her knowledge base by working closely with mentors, and assisting instructors at Body Intelligence. She is passionate about creating and holding a safe space, one where clients feel empowered to reconnect with their intrinsic health.

“In deep listening, we listen with the sole purpose of helping the other person feel heard and accepted”.

More about Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a profound, yet subtle and gentle approach which utilizes the human bodies natural ability to heal itself. Through light touch, the therapist gives support and encourages these natural, fluid systems to reestablish balance physically, mentally and emotionally. Sessions with a Craniosacral therapist are client-led emphasizing bodily sensation and awareness, which can lead to internal resourcing for personal growth. It is a non-invasive treatment meaning any resolutions that occur within these sessions happen only when the clients system is ready to do so. Practitioners in this field spend years learning a specific and sensitive touch which allows them to listen to priorities within their clients system. In this safe space of neutral listening, trauma from pre-conditional forces such as accidents, illness, birth affects, and psycho-emotional experiences can disentangle from the body without disrupting these delicate internal environments.

This therapy is deeply supportive in balancing the nervous system. Trauma and the daily stresses of life can cause  imbalances and taxation within our ANS and our bodies continually run in fight, flight or frozen states. This therapy helps to slow things down, create a deep relaxation, self repair and connection to our body. As this vital system comes back into a homeostatic balance and function better all aspects of life begin to feel more peaceful and at ease.

After moving through a series of treatments, clients report coming into a better relationship with sleep, digestions, pain management, mental clarity, direction, purpose and focus as well as feeling more energized and resilient.

During a session the client can expect to be laying, or sometimes sitting on a treatment table covered with a blanket or a sheet. Sessions are performed fully clothed and start with a brief conversational check in to get a sense of where the client is in their healing journey. Initial sessions have a longer check in as health history is discussed, but all sessions will communicate around the clients current process and goals. The therapist will make light contact with the client, usually starting at the feet. They will be able to get a sense of restrictions within the body and move to different areas based on what presents itself in session. The clients experience can vary from session to session and each time the therapist approaches in an open, neutral way allowing new expressions to emerge. Feeling safe and comfortable is of up most importance, as such, during a session the therapist will check in with the client, and it is encouraged that the client feels free to give feedback to the therapist. This builds a baseline of trust and allows sessions to go deeper.
